April 25, 2025 - Smithson Valley High School Navy JROTC cadet LeeMichael Fellbaum finished 39th in the at the National Air Rifle Championship in Anniston, Alabama this spring.
From more than 2,300 NJROTC cadets who shot in the qualification rounds, Fellbaum, a junior at SVHS, was one of 240 cadets selected to compete at the Navy national finals.
This is the highest individual marksmanship finish in the program’s history, says Commander Scott Outlaw, the senior naval science instructor at SVHS.
“We are very proud of him and his accomplishments," says Outlaw.
